I am the very lucky recipient of this year's Pirkle Jones Foundation Visual Artists Support Grant. The foundation, set up to honor photographer Pirkle Jones, who died in 2009, generously supports emerging and mid-career artists living in Marin County. The 25 artists in this exhibit are all recipients of grants from the Marin Arts Council Fund for Artists. The Fund provides direct monetary support to artists in all media for the creation of new work and/or for assistance in advancing their careers.

Monetary support to an individual artist can have significant impact in a number of ways. But the most important, and most visible, is the art itself. This is an opportunity for you, the viewer, to experience this “visual impact” first hand.
