Artwork > Paradise: Community Day event the de Young

This painting and participatory project explores ideas about love crossing borders or boundaries. Participants at the One Love Community Day event at the de Young Museum were asked "What or who needs your love and support?" They shared their written responses on individual pieces of painted paper and then put them on a wall in a pattern that eventually makes up the larger image of a chain link fence. Or rather, the image produced is of spaces seen through the fence. In exchange for their contribution, participants were offered postcard of the Paradise painting and were encouraged to send it to someone that needs extra love or support.
